Riccione Mayor sues Lega for one million euros over TikTok video

The Mayor of Riccione, Daniela Angelini, has initiated legal action against the Lega political party, seeking one million euros in damages. The lawsuit follows a TikTok video posted by the party’s official account, which used imagery of migrants arriving on Spanish beaches to create a dystopian depiction of Riccione in the year 2030.

Angelini stated the video was intended to spread discriminatory messages for political propaganda and harms the reputation and tourism brand of the community. While the Lega initially attempted to distance certain representatives from the content, the party’s communication team later claimed responsibility, describing the video as a “meme” that utilizes irony and paradox.

In separate local developments, Riccione is also working to strengthen its position as a commercial platform for brands, having intercepted approximately 500,000 euros in advertising budgets in recent years. Meanwhile, local political debate continues regarding beach management, with Forza Italia representatives advocating for increased security and professional services over the expansion of free beaches.
