Riccione to invest 100,000 euros in road safety and lighting

The municipality of Riccione has allocated over 100,000 euros for road safety and public lighting improvements. Contracts for the works are expected to be awarded early next week, with construction scheduled to begin in October.

The project targets several key areas, including Viale Circonvallazione, Viale Giulio Cesare, and the Ghetto del Rio district. In Viale Circonvallazione, near the Perla Verde shopping center, the ‘Sicur-Led’ high-visibility system will be installed. This system features dedicated optics, double-sided light signals, and amber LED flashers to highlight pedestrians and cyclists at night, complemented by new red-background horizontal road markings.

In Viale Giulio Cesare, between Viale Romagna and Ponte Romano, the project involves replacing all lighting poles and burying overhead power lines. Additionally, the public lighting network will be extended into the Ghetto del Rio district with new low-consumption LED lights.

To support safer movement, a new 1.8-kilometer pedestrian and cycle path will be constructed, connecting the sports center, school complex, San Lorenzo district, and the seaside area. The works are expected to be completed in the early months of 2027.
