Rice prices in Bandung remain within government limits

A joint task force comprising the West Java Regional Police, Perum Bulog, and the National Food Agency (Bapanas) has confirmed that rice prices in Bandung's traditional markets remain stable and compliant with government-mandated maximum retail prices (HET).

During inspections at Pasar Sederhana and Pasar Kosambi, officials reported that medium-grade rice is priced around Rp13,500 per kilogram, premium rice is approximately Rp14,900 per kilogram, and SPHP rice is being sold at the regulated price of Rp12,500 per kilogram.

Regarding supply, rice stocks in West Java are projected to be secure through 2027. To mitigate potential production disruptions caused by the dry season, Bulog has accelerated the absorption of farmers' grain, reaching 640,000 tons so far this year. Further harvests expected between September and November are anticipated to bolster these reserves.
