Richard Carapaz wins Alpine stage; Gabriel Peyencet wins Dordogne race

Richard Carapaz of EF Education‑EasyPost secured a victory on the 20th stage of the 2026 Tour de France, conquering the Alpe d'Huez‑Sarenne climb and taking the polka‑dot jersey. He finished 26 seconds ahead of Remco Evenepoul and 31 seconds ahead of Sepp Kuss, who suffered two crashes in the final kilometres. Paul Seixas crashed on the Col de Sarenne and fell out of podium contention, while Tadej Pogacar and Isaac Del Toro featured among the top finishers.

In a separate French event, Gabriel Peyencet of Team Corrèze Suchet dominated the weekend race series in the Dordogne region. He won both weekend races, defeating Australian Lachlan Pennisi, who took two podium places, and other local riders such as Alexandre Joussely. The races in Atur featured challenging conditions, including wind and remnants of nearby forest fires, but Peyencet’s strong finish underscored his form heading into the upcoming Coupe de France N3 finale.
