Richard Heart detained in Istanbul following Interpol Red Notice

Richard Heart, the founder of cryptocurrency projects HEX and PulseChain, has been detained in Istanbul, Turkey. The arrest was carried out in a joint operation by the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MİT) and local police in the Beşiktaş district.

Heart, whose legal name is Richard James Schueler, is the subject of an Interpol Red Notice requested by Finnish authorities. He is facing allegations of aggravated tax fraud and assault in Finland. During the raid on his residence, authorities reportedly seized significant assets, including millions of dollars in cash, luxury watches, electronics, and various firearms.

Following the news of the detention, the market value of Heart's associated tokens saw a sharp decline. HEX and PulseChain (PLS) experienced significant price drops, with some reports indicating losses between 25% and 50%.

This incident follows previous legal scrutiny in the United States, where the SEC had accused Heart of misappropriating investor funds. However, that specific case was dismissed by a US judge in early 2025 due to jurisdictional issues.
