Richard Madden to Lead New Medical Thriller 'Trauma' on Paramount+ and Prime Video
The upcoming series, working‑title “Trauma”, will star Golden Globe‑winner Richard Madden as former Royal Marines medic‑turned‑ER doctor Jim Marchant. The plot follows a terrorist siege of a busy London hospital where the Prime Minister is taken hostage during surgery, forcing Marchant to fight floor by floor to save patients and staff.
“Trauma” is a co‑production between Lionsgate Television and 42 Management & Production, with Prime Video and Paramount+ sharing distribution duties. Paramount+ will stream the series in all territories except the United Kingdom and Ireland, where Prime Video will carry it. The series is created and written by Geoff Bussetil, directed by Daniel Syrkin, and produced by Chrissy Skinns. Executive producers include Madden, Syrkin, Ben Pugh, Ben Cavey and Scott Herbst. Lionsgate holds a minority stake in 42. Jane Wiseman, head of originals for Paramount+, described the show as “bold, global and propulsive storytelling,” while Scott Herbst highlighted the innovative co‑production model.
