Richardson Hitchins Wins Welterweight Debut Over Ricardo Salas at Madison Square Garden

Richardson Hitchins made his welterweight debut on Sunday night at Zuffa Boxing 9, held in the Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York. He defeated former IBF light‑welterweight champion Ricardo Salas by unanimous decision, with all three judges scoring the bout 100‑90. Hitchins controlled the fight with a sharp jab, disciplined shoulder‑roll defense and careful ring movement, frequently tying up Salas when the Mexican tried to close the distance.

Despite a right‑hand injury that began to bother him midway through the fight, Hitchins stayed on strategy and later mentioned that he would like to fight Gervonta Davis, Ryan Garcia or Devin Haney next.
