Richarlison accuses Flávio Bolsonaro of seizing private island

Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison has publicly accused Senator Flávio Bolsonaro and lawyer Willer Tomaz of seizing control of a luxury property in Angra dos Reis, Rio de Janeiro, through irregular means. The athlete claims he invested approximately R$ 10 million in the island property between 2020 and 2021 in partnership with Alencar da Silveira Júnior and Renato Velasco.

Richarlison alleges that after he refused a purchase offer from Bolsonaro, the Senator and Tomaz managed to take possession of the island within 24 hours while legal documentation was still being processed in court. The player has called for an investigation by the Federal Police and stated that if any funds are recovered, a portion will be donated to a hospital in his hometown, Nova Venécia.

In response, Flávio Bolsonaro’s office denied any involvement in the purchase, sale, or mediation of the property, noting the Senator was only named as a potential witness in the legal dispute. Lawyer Willer Tomaz, whose company currently holds possession of the property, denied any irregularities. Tomaz challenged the player to provide legal documentation, such as a deed or valid contract, and noted that previous judicial disputes involving the property had been resolved in favor of his company, with the case being archived by authorities due to a lack of evidence of criminal activity.
