Richarlison awarded Citizen of Paraíba title for humanitarian donation

Tottenham and Brazilian national team striker Richarlison has been awarded the title of ‘Cidadão Paraibano’ (Citizen of Paraíba). The honor was officially published in the state's Official Gazette following approval by the Legislative Assembly of Paraíba.

The distinction was proposed by State Deputy Felipe Leitão in recognition of the athlete's humanitarian contribution. Richarlison donated R$ 200,000 to support Letícia Maria Carvalho, a young woman from João Pessoa who required the amputation of both legs following a severe traffic accident in 2023.

Richarlison's donation covered half of a R$ 400,000 fundraising goal intended to pay for high-tech prostheses and ongoing motor rehabilitation. In addition to the financial contribution, the footballer used his social media influence to increase visibility for the campaign and encourage further public donations.
