Richarlison fined for traffic violation in London
Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison has been fined 400 pounds after being convicted of running a red light in Hendon, northwest London. The incident occurred in April 2026 when a traffic camera recorded the player driving a rented Chevrolet Corvette Stingray passing through a red light 1.5 seconds after it had changed.
The fine includes a 200 pound penalty for the infraction, 120 pounds in court costs, and an 80 pound administrative fee. Additionally, Richarlison received three penalty points on his driving license. He had been offered the opportunity to avoid the license points by completing a driver retraining course, but he missed the deadline to enroll.
The legal proceedings were formalized by the Metropolitan Police and concluded on October 19 at a Barkingside court, where the player pleaded guilty. This legal issue follows recent professional challenges for the Brazilian forward, who has been excluded from manager Roberto De Zerbi’s plans for the 2026 Premier League season.
