Richmond Spiders defeat Lafayette 40-31 after 17-point comeback
The Richmond Spiders overcame a 17-point deficit to defeat the Lafayette Leopards 40-31 in Easton, Pennsylvania. Ashten Snelsire led the comeback, accounting for four total touchdowns with three passing and one rushing.
Richmond trailed 24-7 late in the second quarter and 24-17 at halftime. However, the Spiders scored touchdowns on their first three possessions of the second half to secure a 38-24 lead early in the fourth quarter. Snelsire finished the game with 218 passing yards and 69 rushing yards. Aziz Foster-Powell contributed 113 rushing yards and a touchdown for Richmond, moving their record to 5-1.
Lafayette's performance was highlighted by Jakyre Henley, who rushed for 152 yards, including touchdown runs of 72 and 74 yards. Despite the effort, the Leopards fell to a 1-4 record.
