Richter Gedeon posts modest revenue dip, raises profit outlook despite strong forint
Richter Gedeon Nyrt. reported consolidated revenue of HUF 461.6 billion for the first half of 2026, a 0.8 % decline from the same period a year earlier. Net profit fell 13.7 % to HUF 103.5 billion, largely due to HUF 27.1 billion of exchange‑rate losses caused by a strong forint.
In the second quarter, revenue was HUF 241.4 billion, down 0.4 % YoY, while net profit dropped 26.6 % to HUF 38.1 billion. EBIT rose 2.2 % YoY to HUF 143.5 billion, giving an EBIT margin of 31.1 %. Management highlighted growth in the gynecology, generic, CNS and biotechnology segments, with the antipsychotic Vraylar delivering double‑digit sales growth. Despite the currency headwinds, the company lifted its 2026 profitability guidance to a double‑digit clean‑EBIT increase, citing disciplined cost control and strong performance in higher‑margin innovative lines.
