Rick Nielsen to auction legendary guitar collection

Rick Nielsen, the guitarist for Cheap Trick, is auctioning a significant portion of his extensive instrument collection. In partnership with Julien's Auctions, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee will offer more than 300 items on October 24.

The auction will take place live at the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum at the Historic Nashville Municipal Auditorium. A portion of the proceeds from the sale will benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Nielsen, who has owned over 2,000 instruments including drums, keyboards, and amplifiers, is reducing his collection to approximately 600 items. The auction includes over 70 guitars, such as a custom 38-string, five-neck guitar made of Korina wood.
