Rick Rizzs presents scholarship at Auburn Mountainview High School

Retired Seattle Mariners radio broadcaster Rick Rizzs visited Auburn Mountainview High School on September 30 to present the Toys for Kids Hendu Education Scholarship. The $5,000 award was presented to student Christie Bui-Hoang.

The scholarship was co-founded by Rizzs and former Mariners player Dave Henderson to honor Henderson’s legacy. Henderson, who played for the team from 1981 to 1986, passed away in 2015. Trent Henderson, Dave’s son, accompanied Rizzs for the presentation.

Rizzs, who retired on September 27 after a 41-season career with the Mariners, also participated in the school’s morning announcements during his visit.
