Rick Ross and 50 Cent Clash Over Low Sales of “Set in Stone” Album
Rapper 50 Cent announced on social media that Rick Ross’ career is “over” after the rapper’s new album Set in Stone sold roughly 20,000 copies for a second consecutive week, far below expectations. He posted, “LOL 😆 I’m sorry it’s over, can’t fake it forever!” and earlier had claimed the first‑week sales were only about 2,000 copies before official figures showed about 19,000.
Rick Ross responded in an Instagram story, saying the numbers are genuine and not inflated by bots. He highlighted that the album generated about 63.5 million streams, equivalent to roughly 42,500 album‑equivalent units, and pointed to the album’s debut at No. 39 on the Billboard 200 – the lowest chart peak of his solo releases. Ross also mocked 50 Cent’s business ventures, mentioning sneakers, liquor and a stalled Shreveport project, while maintaining that he is still playing “the long game” after two decades in the industry.
