Former SAT.1 Host Ricky Harris Works as Taxi Driver and School Aide

Ricky Harris, born in Detroit, rose to fame in 1999 as the presenter of the short‑lived SAT.1 talk show "Ricky!". The programme was cancelled after a year and his contract was not renewed. He later appeared on the 2016 "Dschungelcamp".

In 2026 Harris appeared on the NDR Talk Show, where he recounted his post‑TV life. He now drives a taxi at night, a job he describes as "so stolz auf mich" (so proud of myself), and works as a caretaker and school‑support staff at a full‑day school in Landsberg am Lech, Germany. After a chronic kidney disease forced him onto dialysis in 2008, his sister donated a kidney, allowing him to recover.

Harris emphasized his family as his greatest priority, expressing pride in his three children, ex‑wife, partner, and grandchildren. He lives with his partner in Landsberg, reflecting on a transition from media spotlight to everyday community work.
