Ricky Joy recalls 2.3 million sour candy bottles over choking hazard

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued an urgent recall for over 2.3 million Ricky Joy Sour Crush Rolling Liquid Candy Bottles due to a choking hazard. The recall involves products sold nationwide between January 2023 and May 2026.

The safety concern stems from the rolling ball on the candy bottles, which can detach and pose a risk of serious injury or death from choking. The recalled items include blue raspberry, strawberry, green apple, and watermelon flavors, and feature the words ‘extreme sour’ and ‘sour crush’ on the packaging.

These products were sold at major retailers including Walmart and H-E-B, as well as through online platforms such as Walmart.com, CandyFunHouse.com, and RickyJoy.com. While no injuries or incidents have been reported to date, the CPSC advises consumers to stop using the product immediately and contact the Ricky Joy Company for a refund.
