Ricky Joy recalls 2.3 million sour candy bottles over choking hazard

The Ricky Joy Company has issued a recall for approximately 2.3 million Sour Crush Rolling Liquid Candy Bottles due to a choking hazard. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) warned that the plastic rolling ball applicator on top of the bottles can detach, posing a risk of serious injury or death from choking.

The recalled products, which contain 1.85 fluid ounces of liquid candy, were sold nationwide between January 2023 and May 2026. They were available in four flavors—blue raspberry, strawberry, green apple, and watermelon—and featured a green monster character on the label with the words ‘EXTREME SOUR’ and ‘SOUR CRUSH’.

Retailers involved include Walmart, H-E-B, and Forman Mill, with additional online sales through Walmart.com, CandyFunHouse.com, and RickyJoy.com. The candy was manufactured in Colombia and imported by International Trade Imports LLC, based in Cumming, Georgia. While no injuries have been reported to date, the CPSC urges consumers to stop using the product immediately and contact the company for a refund.
