Ricky Martin debuts at Venice Film Festival with new look
Ricky Martin made his debut at the 83rd Venice Film Festival for the screening of the film ‘Hombre al Agua’, a dramedy directed by and starring Gael García Bernal. Martin, who also serves as an executive producer, appears in the film as a character named Roby. The project marks his return to Spanish-language feature films after more than two decades.
During the festival, Martin drew significant attention for a dramatic change in his appearance, sporting a honey-blonde buzzcut and matching beard. He appeared on the red carpet in a white double-breasted jacket and black trousers, posing alongside co-stars including Débora Nascimento, Jorge Salinas, and Esmeralda Pimentel.
Martin expressed his gratitude to Bernal for the opportunity, describing the experience as ‘a very important page’ in his career and a ‘tsunami’ of emotion. The film follows a Cuban lifeguard, played by Bernal, whose life changes after rescuing a wealthy Mexican businessman.
