Rico Abreu wins $126,000 Skagit Nationals at Skagit Speedway

Rico Abreu secured his third consecutive Skagit Nationals title at Skagit Speedway in Burlington, Washington, winning the $126,000-to-win Angel of the Winds Casino Resort Skagit Nationals. Driving for the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing No. 24 team, Abreu engaged in a multi-stage battle with Tanner Thorson, ultimately overtaking him to seal the victory. This win marks Abreu’s sixth High Limit win in nine series events at the venue.

The race was also marked by a significant incident on Lap 31 involving Aaron Reutzel and Trey Starks. A collision between the two resulted in Starks’ vehicle flipping multiple times against the outside wall. Following the crash, officials paused the race to repair the track fence.

Abreu’s victory extends his championship lead to 46 points in the Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing series.
