Rico Lewis called up to England squad for Czechia match

Manchester City defender Rico Lewis has been called up to the England senior squad to face Czechia at Wembley in a Nations League fixture. Lewis, who was previously playing for the England U-21 side, joins the team as a replacement for Nico O’Reilly.

O’Reilly was forced to leave the squad following an injury sustained during a match against Czechia in Prague. While Lewis Hall was the remaining natural left-back in the squad following O’Reilly’s departure, Lewis’s promotion provides additional depth for manager Thomas Tuchel. Lewis has five senior caps and last appeared for the national team in late 2024.
