Davi Brito and Rico Melquiades fight canceled amid bribery allegations

The highly anticipated fight between reality TV stars Davi Brito and Rico Melquiades at the ‘Rancho do Maia’ event was canceled after Davi Brito withdrew minutes before entering the ring. Davi’s coach cited a shoulder injury sustained during warm-ups as the reason for the withdrawal, though event host Carlinhos Maia expressed skepticism regarding the injury.

Following the cancellation, Rico Melquiades made serious allegations against Davi Brito, claiming that Davi had attempted to bribe him to lose the fight. Melquiades stated that Davi initially offered R$ 100,000 and later lowered the request to R$ 80,000 to ensure a first-round victory for Melquiades. Melquiades also reported receiving intimidating direct messages intended to coerce him into accepting the deal.

Tensions between the two had escalated previously during a weigh-in ceremony, which resulted in physical altercations and punches being thrown. Davi Brito responded to the controversy by criticizing Carlinhos Maia’s behavior, accusing the influencer of attempting to humiliate others through his social media presence.
