Ricoh announces development of GR IVx compact camera

Ricoh Imaging has announced the development of the Ricoh GR IVx, a new high-end digital compact camera in the GR series. The upcoming model features a redesigned 40mm F2.8 lens (equivalent in 35mm format) and is expected to be released in late 2026.

Key technical specifications include a 25.74MP APS-C CMOS sensor, 5-axis sensor-shift shake reduction, and 4K video recording at 30/24p. The device will also include 53GB of internal storage and a 3.0-inch 1037K dot touch-screen.

Due to the availability of certain parts ending, Ricoh plans to conclude production of the current Ricoh GR IIIx, IIIx HDF, and IIIx Urban Edition models, with shipments expected to end by October 2026 in Japan.
