Ricoh SP-2240N document scanner review

Ricoh SP-2240N document scanner Ethernet connectivity DirectScan office hardware

The Ricoh SP-2240N is a document scanner priced at $390, designed for high-quality, fast scanning with a high daily duty cycle. While it lacks Wi-Fi support, it features both USB and Ethernet connectivity.

A standout feature is DirectScan, which allows the device to send scans directly to any networked PC via Ethernet without requiring a direct computer connection. This makes it a potential alternative to the Ricoh ScanSnap iX2500 for offices prioritizing wired network distribution over wireless options.

In terms of design, the unit measures 5.9 by 11.5 by 6.4 inches and weighs 7.3 pounds. Its dimensions and weight are comparable to competitors like the Canon imageFormula R40II and the Ricoh ScanSnap iX2400, though it is smaller than the Epson WorkForce ES-590W.
