Ridderkerk: Woman and infant jump from window to escape man

A woman and her infant daughter jumped from a first-floor window to escape a man in Ridderkerk on Sunday evening. The pair landed in the bushes behind a residence on Burgemeester De Gaaij Fortmanstraat.

Emergency services, including ambulances and a trauma helicopter, responded to the scene following reports of an assault. Both the mother and the child were transported to the hospital for medical checks and sustained minor injuries.

Police arrested a 35-year-old man in the vicinity shortly after the incident. While the exact relationship between the suspect and the woman has not been officially disclosed, authorities are conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the assault and the subsequent jump.
