Ridge Royal MD advises graduates to accept entry-level roles

Sheila Adjetey-Anum, Managing Director of Ridge Royal Hotel in Cape Coast, has advised graduates to embrace entry-level positions to build sustainable careers. Speaking at the iNTTA Expo, she noted that many young people hold unrealistic expectations regarding immediate managerial roles and high starting salaries upon graduation.

Ms. Adjetey-Anum shared her own professional journey, noting that she began her 20-year career in the hospitality industry as a housekeeping attendant despite holding a university degree. She emphasized that while academic qualifications are important, graduates must demonstrate practical value and combine formal education with hands-on work experience to achieve long-term financial and professional success.

Additionally, she encouraged young professionals to practice patience, manage their finances responsibly, and commit to continuous learning and hard work as they progress through the industry.
