Ridley Scott develops Alien sequel amid Dog Star box office struggles

Director Ridley Scott has expressed high praise for the FX series ‘Alien: Earth’, describing it as “damn good”. The series, created by Noah Hawley, has received critical acclaim with a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes for its depiction of the franchise's mythology set on Earth.

Scott is also reportedly working on a sequel to ‘Alien: Covenant’, which would see the return of the android David, played by Michael Fassbender. This project aims to explore David's attempts to build a new world while examining the dangers of defense programs.

In contrast to these developments, Scott's recent film ‘Dog Star’ has seen a weak box office performance. Despite an $80 million budget, the post-apocalyptic film earned only $8 million in the US and $19.3 million internationally during its opening period, facing mediocre reviews and a ‘C+’ CinemaScore.
