Ridley Scott film ‘La guerra de los últimos’ to premiere in Venezuela

Ridley Scott's new post-apocalyptic film, ‘La guerra de los últimos’ (War of the Lasts), is scheduled for release in Venezuelan cinemas on August 27. Directed and produced by Scott, the film is an adaptation of Peter Heller’s 2012 novel, ‘La constelación del perro’ (Dog Star).

The story follows Hig, a young pilot played by Jacob Elordi, and Bangley, a survivalist military expert played by Josh Brolin. Living in an isolated, functional shelter within a devastated world, their routine is disrupted when Hig intercepts a mysterious radio transmission, prompting a journey into unknown territory in search of humanity.

The screenplay was developed by Mark L. Smith, who was inspired to adapt the book after receiving it from executive producer Brandon Scott Smith. The film features an ensemble cast including Margaret Qualley, Allison Janney, Benedict Wong, and Guy Pearce. Scott stated his intention to avoid genre clichés, seeking to provide a unique perspective on the end-of-the-world narrative.
