Ridley Scott’s ‘The Dog Stars’ film set for August release

Ridley Scott is set to release his new post-apocalyptic thriller, ‘The Dog Stars’ (also known as ‘Le Stelle Dopo la Fine’ or ‘Na Companhia das Estrelas’), based on the bestselling novel by Peter Heller. The film follows Hig, a young pilot played by Jacob Elordi, and Bangley, a pragmatic survivalist played by Josh Brolin, as they navigate a world devastated by a pandemic.

Set in a remote Colorado airfield, the story centers on Hig’s attempt to find hope after receiving a mysterious radio transmission. The cast also includes Margaret Qualley, Allison Janney, Benedict Wong, and Guy Pearce.

Release dates vary by region: the film is scheduled for late August 2026 in the United States, with theatrical releases in Italy, Brazil, and Portugal occurring around August 26–27, 2026.
