Ridley Scott’s new post‑apocalyptic thriller “The Dog Stars” has been introduced with a first trailer. The film, based on Peter Heller’s novel, follows pilot Hig who survives a virus‑ravaged world with his dog and receives a mysterious radio signal that sparks a quest for other survivors.

The trailer showcases the cast: Jacob Elordi as Hig, with Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley, Benedict Wong, Allison Janney and Guy Pearce in supporting roles. Filming took place in Italy, including the Cinecittà studios, and the project is being released by 20th Century Studios. The movie is slated for a late‑August theatrical debut, with dates of 27 August in the Netherlands and 28 August internationally.
