Ridley Scott’s ‘Last Survivor’ holds London premiere
The London premiere of Ridley Scott’s new dystopian survival film, ‘Last Survivor’, was held at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square. The film, based on Peter Heller’s novel ‘Dog Stars’, depicts a world where 90% of the population has perished due to a mysterious pandemic.
Director Ridley Scott expressed high praise for lead actor Jacob Elordi, stating he had been watching him for some time and believes he is ‘definitely a star’. Elordi, known for his roles in ‘Saltburn’ and ‘Euphoria’, plays Hig, a pilot searching for hope in a desolate landscape. The premiere featured a cast including Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley, Guy Pearce, and Benedict Wong.
Josh Brolin, who plays the former soldier Bangley, described Scott’s directing style as creating a form of ‘calculated chaos’ that allows for magical moments on screen. Margaret Qualley noted the film’s unique, poetic visual atmosphere despite its post-apocalyptic setting. The film is scheduled for release on August 28.
