Rifondazione Comunista Follonica appoints co-secretaries

The Follonica and Alta Maremma circle of the Partito della Rifondazione Comunista has appointed Gabriele Bartoletti and Sara Giovannoni as co-secretaries. The decision follows the resignation of Gianluca Quaglierini, who led the party from 2021 to 2026.

Bartoletti, a 70-year-old former steelworker, previously served as secretary between 2013 and 2021. During his prior tenure, the party grew in membership and regained representation in the municipal council and junta. Giovannoni, a 34-year-old photographer, represents the party’s newer generation of members.

The new leadership aims to maintain political continuity and prepare for upcoming administrative challenges, including the 2027 political elections and the 2029 municipal elections in Follonica.
