Riftbound tournament in Lucca launches first Italian Showdown Series

From 11 to 13 September 2026 the Polo Fiere di Lucca will host the first Italian "Showdown Series" for the Riftbound trading‑card game, the official card game set in the League of Legends universe. The event is organized by PG Esports, the licensed partner of Riot Games in Italy and manager of the League of Legends Italian Tournament.

Riftbound, developed by Riot Games and published worldwide by UVS Games, launched in Italy on 31 October 2025 after debuting in China on 1 August 2025. The Showdown Series is a new tier of Organized Play introduced in 2026 to give hundreds of players a clearer path toward the international competitive circuit, differing from larger Regional Qualifiers. The tournament reflects rapid growth in Italy’s trading‑card market, which rose 23 % in 2025 according to research firm Circana.
