Riga hosts celebrations for Father's Day in Latvia

Latvia celebrates Father's Day on the second Sunday of September, with various public and private activities held to honor the role of fathers in families and society.

In Riga, the Latvian Parents Organization is hosting its 13th annual Father's Day march and festival. The event begins at the Freedom Monument and concludes in Vērmanes Garden. The program includes concerts featuring musical groups such as 'Pirmais kurss', 'Bikigrupa', and 'Pienvedēja piedzīvojumi', alongside various workshops, sports, and creative activities. Additionally, the National Armed Forces' Staff Battalion will hold a state defense service induction ceremony during the gathering.

Other local celebrations include events at the 'M/darbnīca' cultural space, featuring music by DJ Eduards Švāns and jazz improvisations. On a personal level, the holiday serves as a time for families to express gratitude and spend quality time together through shared adventures and activities.
