Riga traffic closures following major production building fire

A large, high-risk fire broke out in a production building at Tvaika iela 4 in Riga on the morning of Monday, November 2. Due to the dangerous situation, the Riga City Council Urban Development Department has decided to close this section of Tvaika iela for at least one week.

The duration of the closure depends on a technical assessment by a structural engineer regarding the stability of the building's exterior construction and necessary safety measures. The closure affects both private vehicle traffic and public transport.

Rīgas satiksme reported that trolleybus route 3 toward Kundziņsala and bus route 49 toward Daudersala are suspended in the affected area. Both services are currently operating only as far as the Sarkandaugava terminus. Authorities have warned of increased traffic congestion in surrounding streets and advise commuters to plan alternative routes.
