Riga White Night cultural forum attracts crowds despite rain
The White Night cultural forum in Riga drew significant crowds on the night of September 5, despite inclement weather and heavy rain. Visitors moved between outdoor projects and indoor galleries to avoid the storms.
Iveta Ārgale, the project coordinator for the Riga City Council's Culture Projects and Public Events Department, described the event as a success. While exact attendance statistics are still being finalized, organizers noted that while some locations saw fewer people, others experienced long queues.
Notable highlights included the ‘Taureņu tramvajs’ project, which was highly rated by organizers, and video projections at the Latvian National Botanical Garden. Approximately 30 cultural events took place across various Riga districts, including Old Riga, Āgenskalns, and Skanste.
