Rigathi Gachagua Gitonga Mukunji Embu clashes Kenya politics DCP Party

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has alleged a plot to arrest Manyatta MP Gitonga Mukunji following violent clashes during a UDA meeting in Nembure, Embu County. Gachagua claimed that hundreds of police officers were deployed around Mukunji’s home with orders to apprehend the lawmaker.

Gachagua accused Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire of orchestrating the intimidation. He further alleged that Kindiki sent Mukunji a WhatsApp message threatening to ‘deal with him’ following the incident. The former Deputy President attributed the unrest to residents being locked out of Nembure Stadium during the political gathering.

In response to the situation, Gachagua stated he has mobilized lawyers to defend Mukunji, suggesting the arrest might occur while the MP is attending church.
