Rihanna reveals she has at least 170 unreleased songs

During a TikTok livestream for her cosmetics brand, Fenty Beauty, Rihanna revealed that she has a massive archive of unreleased music. Using a comparison to her brand's Gloss Bomb Vault, she stated, “If there are 10 products in a vault, then I have at least 17 vaults,” implying she possesses at least 170 unreleased tracks.

The singer has not released a studio album since “ANTI” in 2016. While she has focused heavily on her business ventures, Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty, as well as her family life, she has hinted at musical activity. In August, her partner A$AP Rocky confirmed she was working in the studio, stating, “She is in the studio right now... she's working. She's cooking.”

Despite the large volume of recorded material, Rihanna has not announced an official release date for her ninth studio album. In a previous interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she noted that her new music would not be what people expect, emphasizing that she refuses to release anything mediocre that does not represent her current artistic evolution.
