Riihimäki allocates 100,000 euros for participatory budgeting
The city of Riihimäki has launched a new participatory budgeting phase, allocating 100,000 euros for resident-led projects. The city is transitioning to a two-year budgeting cycle, meaning selected projects will be implemented during 2027–2028.
Residents and visitors can submit ideas via the city's web service or through paper forms at local libraries and service points until November 15. To proceed to the evaluation stage, proposals must receive at least ten supporters. The final voting process for residents aged 12 and older is scheduled to take place between January 15 and February 21, 2027.
