Rijeka and Novi Vinodolski host summer wine festivals

After a four‑year pause, the Vinski grad wine festival returns to Rijeka from 9 to 18 July. Held on Titov trg by the Continental hotel, the free‑entry event features 19 domestic and foreign wine exhibitors, bottles priced from €9, a glass‑deposit system, a range of food stalls and a weekend music programme with DJs.

The Okolotorno festival celebrates its 11th edition in the historic centre of Novi Vinodolski. It takes place on four Wednesdays – 8, 15 and 22 July and 12 August – and combines wine tasting with traditional crafts such as a Frankopan ink workshop, wool processing and beekeeping. Live performances by local klapa and tamburica groups, historical reenactments of Frankopan and Ban Ivan Mažuranić, and food stalls offering local wine, pršut and sweets round out the programme.
