Rijeka steps hosts 18th edition of major Croatian fashion event

The 18th edition of Riječke stepenice, Croatia’s largest fashion manifestation, took place on the steps beside the Grand Hotel Bonavia in Rijeka. The two-hour program featured 18 different fashion shows, showcasing a diverse range of Croatian design, from established brands to young designers and traditional craftsmanship.

Key themes included sustainable fashion and the reuse of materials. Designers such as MALA by Pavla and Vagant Studio highlighted eco-friendly practices through recycled denim and long-lasting clothing. Other notable collections included Miau Couture’s ‘HER ARMOUR’, which explored the contrast between strength and femininity, and Hitomo’s focus on modern feminine silhouettes.

The event also featured menswear, with brands like Look Famous and Gentlemen’s Club emphasizing classic tailoring and luxury. Director Ivana Delač stated that the event serves as a platform to promote Croatian design, creative industries, and entrepreneurship, acting as a networking hub for the fashion, economic, and tourism sectors.
