On Saturday, the Sports‑Recreation Centre "3 May" and additional venues in Rijeka hosted the 28th sports meeting of volunteers and veterans of the Croatian War of Independence, organized by the PGŽ Club “3 May”. Participants from across the county competed in 11 disciplines and gathered for social activities.

City official Jasna Kalanj highlighted the event’s role in promoting healthy lifestyles, mental well‑being and the transmission of war‑time values to younger generations. The city also announced a reorganisation of its administration, creating a dedicated unit for veterans within the Department of Social Policies, Health and Veterans, aimed at increasing support and funding for the veteran community.
