Rijeka hosts STEM and innovation workshops for youth

Educational initiatives in Rijeka are focusing on fostering innovation and STEM skills among youth. The Primorsko-goranska County Innovators Association, in collaboration with the Science and Technology Park of the University of Rijeka (STEP RI), is organizing a workshop titled ‘From Idea to Innovation: How an Invention Becomes a Product’. Scheduled for September 30, 2026, the session aims to guide high school students and mentors through the process of transforming technical solutions into market-ready products, covering topics such as market needs, financing, and intellectual property protection.

Additionally, the STEM(AJMO!) project, co-implemented by the University of Rijeka's Center for the Popularization and Promotion of Science and the Faculty of Mathematics, continues its September programming. Funded by the European Social Fund Plus and the Croatian state budget, the project provides practical workshops in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics for children and young people to encourage experimentation and technical interest.
