Rijeka prosecutors indict four in 50 million euro shipyard fraud case

The Rijeka County State Attorney's Office has filed an indictment against four individuals for abuse of trust in business operations and subsidy fraud. The charges stem from the alleged misuse of state aid intended for the restructuring of the 3. maj shipyard in Rijeka.

According to the indictment, the suspects are accused of misappropriating nearly 50 million euros between June 2015 and January 2017. The funds, which were designated to cover losses during the shipyard's transitional period, were allegedly diverted within the Uljanik Group, specifically toward the Uljanik shipyard, which was identified as a primary source of financial irregularities within the collapsed group.
