FC Midtjylland eliminates HNK Rijeka from Conference League

FC Midtjylland eliminated HNK Rijeka from the Conference League after winning the second leg 4-1 at Rujevica. Following a 2-0 first-leg victory in Denmark, the Danish side secured a 6-1 aggregate win to advance to the league phase.

Rijeka initially took a lead in the 4th minute through Daniel Adu Adjei, but Stanley Iheanacho equalized for Midtjylland in the 18th minute. The match saw Rijeka defender Martin Erlić forced off due to injury in the 31st minute. Midtjylland dominated the second half, scoring three goals through Dario Osorio (51'), Magnus Jensen (56'), and Cho Gue-Sung (78') to seal the result.

Rijeka manager Matjaž Kek noted that his team was not at the same level as the Danish side, citing their speed and efficiency on set pieces. Midtjylland fans were reportedly involved in an incident following the match, which the club is discussing with UEFA and local police.
