Riju Dutta Slams TMC Over Frozen Accounts and Backs West Bengal UCC Bill

Suspended Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Riju Dutta told IANS that three of the party’s bank accounts, held at HDFC’s Central Plaza, have about 450 crore rupees frozen and are now under police investigation. He questioned why TMC is "so anxious" about the frozen funds and noted that the Kolkata High Court has advised against any haste, saying the matter will be resolved by police or administration.

Dutta also expressed support for West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari’s move to introduce the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) bill in the state assembly, stating that it aligns with Article 25 of the Constitution and does not restrict any religion. He dismissed claims that the bill is being politicised and added that he also backs the Prevention Detention Act, citing the need for law and order in the state.
