Rik van Boeckel presents new poetry collection

Poet and percussionist Rik van Boeckel is presenting his third poetry collection, ‘Ballade van Herinneringen’, at De Kler bookstore. Published by Ginkgo, the collection features 45 poems divided into three distinct sections.

The first section, ‘Stad van mijn hart’, offers tributes to the city of Leiden. The second, ‘Tijd om te zijn’, explores broader themes such as nature, music, and the desire for peace in Ukraine. The final section, ‘Reis uit de comfortzone’, draws inspiration from the author's travels through Europe and Morocco.

The collection also includes original photography by van Boeckel and pays homage to various cultural figures, including fado singer Amália Rodrigues, poet Fernando Pessoa, and artist Rembrandt van Rijn.
