Riley Moore faces Democratic challenger Ace Parsi for West Virginia's 2nd District
Republican incumbent Riley Moore is seeking a second term in the U.S. House of Representatives for West Virginia's 2nd District, facing a challenge from Democrat Ace Parsi, a former nonprofit executive.
Moore, who previously served as state treasurer, highlighted several legislative efforts during his campaign. These include sponsoring a bill to prevent financial institutions from tracking gun and ammunition purchases, a bill banning gender transition surgeries for minors, and supporting the SAVE America Act, which requires proof of citizenship for voter registration. Moore defended the voting legislation, stating it is intended to ensure only U.S. citizens vote.
Additionally, Moore discussed the Rate-Payer Protection Act, which aims to establish guidelines to prevent data center costs from being passed to electrical customers. As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, he noted that he has secured over $130 million in project funding for the district.
