Riley Sheehan replaces Neilson Powless for UCI Road World Championships

Riley Sheehan has been called up to the United States roster for the UCI Road World Championships in Montréal following the withdrawal of Neilson Powless due to illness. Sheehan, who rides for NSN Cycling, was originally the first reserve after being left off the initial selection.

Sheehan had previously expressed frustration on social media regarding the selection process, noting that riders who had won races were being overlooked. He has since won the Circuit de Wallonie and a stage of the Czech Tour this season. He joins an eight-rider roster including Matteo Jorgenson, Brandon McNulty, Sean Quinn, Artem Shmidt, Quinn Simmons, Kevin Vermaerke, and Larry Warbasse.
