Rillet reaches unicorn status with $100 million funding round
AI-native accounting startup Rillet has achieved unicorn status after raising $100 million at a $1 billion valuation. The funding round was completed within 48 hours following a board meeting where the company demonstrated significant growth, including a doubling of its annualized revenue rate in the last quarter.
CEO Nicholas Koop attributed the rapid growth and investor interest to an acute shortage of accountants and CPAs in the United States. Unlike traditional software, Rillet is designed for agentic workflows where AI handles financial accounting tasks and collaborates with humans. The company has already amassed 600 customers, many of whom are replacing legacy ERP and accounting systems from providers such as Oracle, NetSuite, and Intuit.
The latest funding round included participation from major investors including ICONIQ, Andreessen Horowitz, and Sequoia. Rillet has now raised a total of $300 million since its emergence from stealth two years ago.
