Rimac Nevera production falls short of original targets

Rimac Automobili founder Mate Rimac has revealed that production of the Nevera electric hypercar will fall significantly short of original targets. While the company initially planned to produce 190 units—including 150 standard models and 40 R-spec versions—the final production count will be approximately 71 vehicles, consisting of 50 standard Neveras and 21 Nevera R models.

This represents only about 37 percent of the original goal. Mate Rimac attributed the lower sales to a shift in preference among wealthy hypercar buyers, who are increasingly moving away from electrification in favor of classic internal combustion engines. He compared the trend to luxury watches, noting that while digital devices may offer more technical utility, collectors still value the mechanical nature of traditional timepieces.

Despite the sales shortfall, the Nevera remains a record-breaking vehicle, having set over 20 world records for production electric cars, including a top speed of 412 km/h. The company's focus also includes Bugatti, which recently introduced the Tourbillon model featuring a V16 combustion engine.
